From the Principal

Dear Messmore Families,

I am very pleased and honored to introduce myself as the new principal at Messmore Elementary. My name is Renee Fiema and I am proud to be joining the Messmore community. I look forward to working with you to continue the important Montessori traditions and practices of high expectations, innovation and collaboration.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my background. I have served as principal of Crissman Elementary in Utica Community Schools for the past seven years. I also have prior administrative and elementary teaching experience in Macomb County. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Teaching with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, and an Education Specialist Degree in Leadership and Administration from Wayne State University. I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Leadership and Management at Capella University.

In additional to being a life-long educator, I am a parent of two children of my own. My son will be a high school senior and my daughter will be in ninth grade. With both my children in high school, it will be an exciting start to the school year for me!

I am thrilled to be working with the respected Messmore staff and families as we continue providing your children with the best possible learning environment and educational opportunities. With my open door policy, you will find me to be honest and compassionate. I will be in the office beginning August 9th for the new school you and I would encourage you to visit at any time.  Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Renee A. Fiema, Ed.S.
